MOT and Service Booking

What does a service include?

During a service various parts of your vehicle are checked, including the brakes, engine, brake fluid, steering fluid and antifreeze as well as changing the recommended filters, to ensure that your vehicle is prepared and ready for everyday use.

What should I bring?

You will need to bring your service history print out or book so we can stamp it for proof of service and your locking wheel nut, so the technician can perform a full wheel-off brake check.

During an MOT, our fully qualified technicians will inspect your vehicle thoroughly to ensure the car is in a roadworthy condition. Should your vehicle fail its MOT, our service team are able to give you an accurate assessment and a quote for the work that is required in order to pass its MOT.

What does an MOT include?

In this essential test, MOT-trained technicians check your vehicle for any faults which would deem your vehicle un-roadworthy. The actual test takes around 60 minutes and includes comprehensive checks of the brakes, tyres, steering system, lights, suspension and emission levels.

What happens if my vehicle fails an MOT?

If your vehicle fails its MOT, you’ll have to get it repaired and retested in order for it to pass. You can get a free partial retest for up to ten days after failing if the work is carried out by ourselves as only the parts that previously failed are checked. If you have the repair work carried out by a third-party garage, £10 will be charged for the partial retest.

Can I drive my vehicle without an MOT?

You can’t drive without a valid MOT, unless you’re on your way to or from a pre-booked MOT. You can also drive to or from a pre-booked appointment to get faults repaired. You can however drive your vehicle if it fails an MOT before your previous MOT expires. Here’s an example scenario: Your MOT runs out on the 31st May. You book in for a test on the 25th of May, but your vehicle fails. You can drive your vehicle until the 31st May, when your old MOT expires.
